Read this instead of the news
In a dimly lit room, I sit in the corner finishing up some work in front of the window before the Saturday sun rises.

Soon, the bluish-purple tint of morning will color our room, and our toddler will wake up with a "wats dis dat?"—obviously pointing at my laptop's screen.
I've made it a point to actually focus more on my family. I know this is where my truth and the truth of my life matter most right now.
Like most of you, I'm aware of the tragedy and the chaos that's brewing overseas. You might be even closer to it.
The internet (you know what part of it I mean) is not a good place to be in right now for my focus and energy.
Ironic since I work in the digital industry.
There's nothing there that you can trust your peace on.
With all the AI-generated videos and fake news, you're bound to accidentally waste your emotional bandwidth.

Maybe I'm just getting old. (which is sorta funny because of how our grandparents and parents are now super involved in their own senior-optimized social media hellholes, meanwhile, we of the internet generation are mostly letting it go for more things analog.)
The internet has lost its credibility to me. More like the gigalomaniacal gigantic entities that control most of technology and information in the world.
Are they aliens? Are they evil?
I don't know. And honestly, there's nothing I can do much about them.
But there's plenty that I can do for my family.
